This month we celebrate Mother’s Day -
if you go by the name the card companies give it - or
MOTHERING SUNDAY to give it its ancient title.
Whatever you choose to call it, March
14th is the day when we have an opportunity to say a
‘thank you’ to mums.
We will be doing that at St Martin’s at
11.00am with a special service for families and at a
communion service at St Philip’s at 9.30am.
During both of these services there
will also be an opportunity to light a candle for a mum
who is no longer with us - a mum you can't give a card
to today.
So if you are celebrating with your
family, or simply looking back with fondness, you would
be most welcome to come and join us at either of our
services.

Highlights
Songs of Praise
is on Monday 1st March at 2.30 pm
at St Philip w St Etheldreda. Leading the short,
informal worship will be Ron Southgate – who will be
reflecting on ‘The Advancing Years’. Tea, cakes &
fellowship will follow a service of well-known hymns,
readings & prayers! Need a lift? Please call Joyce

The Lent Course
– is called ‘Knowing God’. The meetings are held in the
Gibson Room in Exning Community Church Hall and continue
on:
Tuesdays 2nd, 9th,
16th & 23rd March.
Coffee-7.15 pm for 7.30 pm start (to 8.30
pm)
Good Friday Singers/Instrumentalists
On Good Friday evening – 2nd April
from 7 to 8 pm in St Martin’s - we are going to have an
hour of reflective music (both sacred & secular,
instrumental & sung) interspersed with poems. I am
looking for people to sing in a group and as soloists -
so if you enjoy singing please come along and join us on
Wednesday evenings from 8-9 in St Martin’s.
Instrumentalists who
would like to be part of an ensemble also very welcome!

A Quiz ‘Eggstravanganza’!
is to be held on Saturday 17th April! This is a FUN
quiz night – probably different to any you have been to before! We enjoy
an evening together, take part in a quiz with a difference & eat a tasty
